Commentary of the week
This section will take the place of the article. Normally I would answer a question here but none were submitted this week. Please submit your question by clicking the survey questions below and I will answer them in this section.
Forums - Do you take advantage of them?
There are a variety of ways to do this available to everyone. One of the biggest things I have discovered is that you can’t do this alone. You need to build a network of people to do it. There is a lot of truth in the statement it is not what you know it is who you know.
The Good Old Boy (or Girl) network is alive and well and works. The big thing to understand is that everyone can become a part of one. There are numerous ways to start this. Being active and a contributing member in forums is probably the easiest. The key is to contribute where you have expertise and take the time to learn where you don’t.
Finding people that are strong in areas where you are weak and helping others in areas where you are strong will allow you to create the relationships and partnerships that you can leverage down the road. If you are a giver within the forums people will be much more likely to help you. That help may turn into a sharing of strengths and many JV’s have come about by people melding their strengths together to make a stronger unit than either could be alone.
Take the time to help others and you will soon find people looking to help you.
